Kahu Marian Kuuleialoha  Kanipae
Kahu Marian Kanipae passed away peacefully at home in Lana’i City, surrounded by family, music and love. She was born on November 23, 1915, in Kahalepalaoa, Lana'i.
Services will be held at Kalanakila O Ka Malamalama Hoomana O Irodane Hou, Lana’i City on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. Visitation begins at 8:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Lanai City Cemetery.
Kahu Marian is survived by her daughter, Sandra K. Ropa of Lana’i City; grandchildren, David “Boy” Ropa (Nani DeSa) Honuapo of Ka’u, Michael “Kaleo” (Natalie) Ropa of Lana’i City, Ola (Stephen “Fergie” Ferguson) Ropa of Lana’i City, Perry K. Wilson of Nanakuli, Douglas K. Wilson of Nanakuli; great grandchildren Kaleialoha Ropa of Hilo, Kamanao (Annie Lam) Donato of St. Louis, MO., Kamalani Donato of Lana’i city, Kainoa Wilson of Nanakuli, Jake Ropa of Lana’i City; great great grandchildren, Manaolana Ropa-Lam, Kapuahinano Ropa-Sproat; hanai Children, William “Papo” (Nanette) Kwon of Maui, Noelani (Miles) Watanabe of Maui, Ronnie (Dino Filomino-Kwon) Kwon of Maui; hanai grandchildren, Haunani Eskaran, Rubenette “Lani Girl” Degamo; brother, Isaac Kaopuiki of Honolulu; cousins, Irene Perry of Lana’i City, Lani Levi of Maui; and many nieces and nephews.
