Ester Suguitan Orina, 63, passed away on November 1, 2019 at home in Kahului. She was the wife of Mario Orina, Sr. They shared 37 years of marriage together.
She was born in Sta. Maria, Pangasinan on December 23, 1955. She was the daughter of M/M Francisco and Rosario Butuyan Suguitan (deceased). She was employed as an Agriculturist in the Department of Agriculture in the Philippines for several years and moved to Maui with her husband in 2010 to join her daughter Charissa and the family in Kahului.
She was a member of The Assembly of the First Born Maui Mission in Kahului. She will be remembered as a great cook, a super ‘Nanay’ to her grandchildren, a great caretaker to Inang Isyang as she considered her as a mother. The best MAMA to her children, a humble and loving person and loved to serve the Lord.
She is survived by husband Mario Orina, Sr., children Charissa (Leonard) Almiron of Kahului, Irene (Joselito) Navarro of Philippines, Elvah Bless (Lemuel) Cabanilla of Wailuku, Mario Orina, Jr. of Qatar. Grandchildren: Leonard ‘L.J.’ Almiron, Aliesha Isabelle Almiron, Nehemiah ‘Nick’ Almiron, King James ‘Ari’ Cabanilla, Ezekiel ‘Ezzy’ Cabanilla, Olivia Navarro and Sophia Navarro and several siblings in the Philippines.

Nanay Ester extended her gratitude to the following individual for their love and support: Abalayan Ely Almiron for your love and unending support, Ptr and Mrs. Tony Cabanilla and family, Dr. Noel Almiron and family of Brooklyn as her personal/family Doctor adviser, Janette Jaurigue and family of Chicago, Edward/Shirley Torio and family as her extended family and partners at home, AFB Maui Missions headed by Rev. Herminio Aquino, Maui Swim Club OHANA, relatives and friends around the world, Maui Memorial Doctors, nursing and RT staff, Hospice Care Maui and Maui Medical Group Doctors and staff.
The funeral service will be held on November 16, 2019 at 6-9pm at Norman’s Mortuary in Wailuku. The viewing will be held from 6-7pm to the time of the service. The family will bring her home to the Philippines for burial in Sta, Maria, Pangasinan, Philippines. Thank you everyone for your love, support and prayers!
