Richard Lovell Caldito Jr, 75

Richard Lovell Caldito Jr., of Wailuku, Maui, went home to the lord on August 23, 2019. He was born on March 3, 1944, in Wailuku, Maui.

He graduated from Henry P. Baldwin High School, Wailuku, Maui. Attended Bringham Young University of Hawaii Campus, Laie, Hawaii. He served in the United States Army Reserve at Fort Belvoir, VA.
Richard was employed at the Sheraton Maui, as Executive Assistant, appointed to Mayor Cravalho’s cabinet as Assistant Director of Economic Development. He was elected to the 5th District, Kahului; House of Representative and served as Assistant Majority Floor Leader. He was a Bailiff for the State of Hawaii Judiciary County of Maui, A Longshoreman at McCabe Hamilton and Renny and visitor information at the Maui Airport.

He was predeceased by his parents, Richard & Dorothy Caldito Sr.; and sister, Charlene Rodrigues (Peter-surviving). He is survived by his wife, Toni Rodrigues; Children, Douglas “Kalani” Caldito (Elaina), Shelley “Kanani” DeSa (Tony), Chad “Kaleo” Caldito (Karren), Kurt “Keala” Caldito (Miki), Garrett & Gage; siblings, Nona Apuna, Ivy “Leilani” Caldito, Iola Balubar (Richard); 5 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

Richard Knew that the true meaning of life was “fellowship” and always made time to spend with family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2014, at St. Anthony Church in Wailuku; mass will begin at 11:00 a.m.
