Steve “Cat” Catugal, 68, of Wailuku, Maui, born on September 29, 1950, passed away suddenly in Phoenix, Arizona on May 4, 2019.

A memorial and celebration of Steve’s life will be held at Ballard Family Mortuary on Thursday, June 13, 2019 with visitation from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; services will begin at 7:00 p.m. Light pupus and refreshments to follow. His ashes will be scattered at his final resting place on Friday, June 14, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in front of the Lahaina Pump House (near the old Chart House). Lunch at Wahikuli following.
“Cat” was retired from United Airlines and most recently worked for the USDA. He was a Martial Arts Master and owned the Maui Chinese Martial Arts Academy for 30 years. Cat loved fishing, diving, surfing, playing guitar, singing, traveling the world, and most of all, enjoying time with friends and family. He lived his life in the true spirit of Aloha and always said, “It’s good to be fast with the hands and feet, but better to be fast with the ALOHA!”
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Catugal; daughter, Kelly (Mike) Mills, son, Keoni (Noel) Catugal; 12 siblings, Ricardo Catugal, Delafonte (Makanani) Catugal, Pauline (Bill) Stropp, Stanford (Cindy) Catugal, Kris Klask, Joan (Brett) Davenport, Valerie (Earl) Vierra, Dee (Clifford) Merriles; Patricia Catugal–deceased, Dennis Opaon–deceased, Carol Opaon–deceased, Chester Opaon–deceased, 6 grandchildren, Kialani Mills, Kaleo Mills, Kainoa Mills, Kainalu Catugal, Kaila Catugal, Kailena Catugal; and numerous nieces & nephews.
